Last reviewed: July 2026
1. Who we are
Africa Hope & Development Foundation (AHDF), Reg Nr 2013/0452, is a registered non-profit, non-political organisation based at P.O. Box 108, Katima Mulilo, Zambezi Region, Namibia. This policy explains how we handle personal information you share with us through this website, our New Member Interest Form, or direct contact by phone, WhatsApp, email or post.
2. Information we collect
- Contact details you provide via our website forms, membership form, or direct correspondence (name, email, phone/WhatsApp number, postal address).
- Information about your areas of interest, volunteering availability, or the programme you'd like to support or donate toward.
- Information you choose to share with us when seeking support from our counselling, health, or shelter services.
- Basic technical information (such as browser type) automatically collected when you visit this website.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries, process membership or volunteer applications, and coordinate donations.
- To keep you updated about AHDF's programmes and events, where you've asked us to.
- To provide the counselling, health, shelter, or relief services you've requested, in confidence.
- To meet our reporting obligations to partners, sponsors, and regulatory bodies.
4. Sensitive information & confidentiality
Some of AHDF's work involves highly sensitive matters — including gender-based violence counselling, abortion counselling, and baby-dumping reception support. Any personal information shared with us in these contexts is treated as strictly confidential and is only accessed by the AHDF staff directly involved in providing that support, unless disclosure is required by Namibian law.
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with trusted partners (such as the Office of the Governor, Zambezi Region, or funding partners) only where necessary to deliver a programme you're part of, or where required by law.
6. Your rights
You may ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us at [email protected] or 066 254 071.
7. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold, including limiting access to staff who need it to do their work.
