What does AHDF actually do?+

AHDF runs eight project areas: Women Shelters & Empowerment, Health & Rehabilitation Services, Orphanage & Child Care, Counselling & Awareness Hubs, Education, Skills & Training, Prison Programs & Reintegration, Disaster Relief & Emergency Aid, Community Development Projects. To be a socio-economic liberation conveyor belt — fulfilling our social responsibility in a responsible and engaging manner through unrestricted, comprehensive public health outreach interventions and educational programmes for the vulnerable and incarcerated, and for victims of societal ills — rendering emergency disaster relief aid to the underprivileged, to orphans, and to communities in conflict or devastated by war, across Southern Africa and beyond our borders.

Who can become a member?+

We welcome any person who shares the same ideology as the foundation.

How is AHDF financed?+

Financing is derived primarily from members, who contribute to keep the foundation running. AHDF also raises funds through fundraising activities and by sourcing support from the African Union, its agencies, sponsors, partners, and other stakeholders.

Is AHDF a registered organisation?+

Yes. AHDF is registered under Reg Nr 2013/0452 as a non-profit, non-political organisation.

Where does AHDF operate?+

AHDF is based in Katima Mulilo in Namibia's Zambezi Region, and reaches communities across the region and beyond, working alongside local leaders and, where relevant, the Office of the Governor.

How do I get support from AHDF's women's shelter or counselling services?+

Please contact us directly and confidentially by phone, WhatsApp or email — details are on our Contact page. A team member from our Gender Affairs department will follow up with you.

Can I donate items instead of money?+

Yes — blankets, warm clothing, sandals, maize meal and other staples are a core part of our relief distributions. Visit the Donate page for how to arrange a drop-off.

How does AHDF align with national and continental development goals?+

AHDF supports the AU's Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals, and aligns its Community Development Projects with Namibia's Harambee Prosperity Plan.

Can businesses or government offices partner with AHDF?+

Yes — AHDF has partnered with the Office of the Governor, Zambezi Region, and welcomes partnerships with the African Union, its agencies, sponsors and other stakeholders.

What departments manage AHDF's work?+

Six departments: Gender Affairs, Early Childhood Development, Domestic & International Relations, Overall Health Affairs, Research & Information Technology, Youth Development.
